Re: 4 pillars 4 cost-effective Solar Power-thesolaralliance.org
We are still working to get national fair net-metering.
It would also be a big win if we could get congress to stop giving huge incentives to fossil fuel like coal and also stop giving even bigger money to Nuclear.
The recently passed energy bill attempted to stop the incentives but congress failed. It's not their money , it's ours and I think they should all be fired.

Solar is super but the policies we have can make it not very cost effective. Our Government gives huge tax breaks and Billions to fossil fuels and have very poor policies in many areas. Each State can have it's own policy since we have no national standards.
On the website www.thesolaralliance.org they list the 4 things we need for Solar to be really cost effective for the average person. It's already the best choice in many areas but it's hard to see that when Billions got to Nuclear. The G8 sumitt shows that Nuclear really cost use over 50 cents a KWh and solar is about 12 cents and wind is less than 5 cents.
The 4 pillars are
1- Utility rates and Revenue Polices.
2- Interconnection
3- Net-Metering
4- Incentives & standards.
I also think education needs to be the over all part of this. If many knew the Billions and where they go it would be easy to see the best choice. If we all knew the enourmous amount of water used for coal and nuclear that would kill them right there.
