The big problem with sewers is their function of mixing toxins with everything so that the toxins can not be removed at the treatment plant, leaving us with effluent that goes back polluted into the rivers.  Any burning of gases releases toxins into the air and sludge can only be turned into toxic fertilizer.  And the methane has already been exhausted up every plumbing stack across the city.

Maybe we need a local treatment facility that captures and uses the biogas.
