E-Bicycle in Arizona

There are some real nice electric bicycles now for sale in Arizona. I checked them out a few weeks ago and now have 2. They are real sturdy, safe and work better than any I have ever tried. They look and feel like a small motorcycle.

I want to use them to test new battery types like A123 Lithium, Altair nano lithium and Valence Safion lithium batteries. It would cost a forture in a car but will be very affordable in a light efficient bicycle.

Fantastic site for researching e-bikes.

I've been looking to buy an e-bike and recently somebody told me about this site.  Very helpful, easily access every e-bike manufacturer, dealer, pictures, videos etc.

Electric Scooter w/lithium batteries

Check out these pure electric scotters. You can even get lithium batteries and go up to 50 mph. If you go slower you can double your range.

Note I don't sell or own these scooters or have any financial connection with them.

These are so cool! They have 3 gear options: Single Speed, Optonal 6 & 36 Speed. They only come in blue, but that's ok! LOL! I think this is perfect for a family!

HPV bicycles 600+ mpg

Did you know a human power vehicle has gone over 80 mph ? They have a competition each year trying to break these records. The fastest use a recumbent type bicycle in an enclosed shell, very fast and aero dynamic.

Did you know a bicycle gets over 600 mile per gallon compared to the amount of energy in a gallon of gas when used in food ? Check out bicycling magazine. A recent college graduate did a study and compared all the food against fuel and went over 660 miles.

bicycles, human power

A bicycle is one of the most efficient vehicles ever invented. There are 1,2,3 and even 4 wheels. Here's a note about efficiency from http://www.treehugger.com/files/2006/07/world_most_ener.php
Comparing energy used per passenger-mile (calories), they found that a bicycle needed only 35 calories, whereas a car expended a whopping 1,860. Bus and trains fell about midway between, and walking still took 3 times as many calories as riding a bike the same distance. end of quote

France taking the lead on a new program to reduce traffic using Bikes!!!

This isn't exactly about electric bikes but is about how one city is taking steps to reduce traffic. This July, Parisians will have an exciting new way to travel around their city. About 1,500 stations stocked with specially designed, vandal-proof bikes will be scattered around the city. Once your membership is paid, and your credit card is on file, the bikes can be borrowed from one station and returned to any other station in the city. Membership ranges from $2 for a day to $40 for a year, and rentals are free for the first 30 minutes.
