I want to power my MAC Home computer (and add-ons) with Solar Power

Hello,


Anybody have any knowledge of how to power a MAC G5 computer, 2 monitors, scanner, burner, speakers, etc...using soloar power? I use that baby when I get home at night, and late into the evening, and what if it could get juiced up during the day, and used at night...?

Just a thought...really want to do this, if possible...

There are several companies that make solar chargers for laptops, but since you are trying to power a desktop computer with no built in battery, as well as a number of peripherals, you'll need a larger and more complicated system -- i.e., several solar panels, batteries, an ac inverter, etc. I have seem some small portable systems that provide as much as 1500 watts of peak power, but the batteries on these systems aren't large enough to power a lot of computer equipment for for an extended period of time. I recommend that you talk to a solar professional in your area to determine how to best meet your needs.
