Largest Leave No Trace Event In the World Goes Biodielsel

Very cool that they'll be running on biodiesel. Considering that the whole thing happens out in the desert, and the massive size of the event I guess that solar wouldn't be total practical solution, at least not yet. I'm curious if some of the attendees will be doing anything in particular with solar, such as to power their robots, displays, and perhaps even powering their personal needs while they are there. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better place in the world to grab all of that wonderful sun power in a solar collector than in the middle of the Nevada desert.

You will have a chance to learn a LOT about that and a lot of other related topics at the event. More than ever before there will be a lot of forward thinkers putting their ideas to green use, since this year's theme (every year a different one) is The Green Man.
Burning Man is not what you probably think it is. It is impossible to understand it without witnessing it for yourself.
Hey Wholesum!
That is great news - I love hearing these kinds of stories as it gives hope to th cause. It really doesn't require much for positive change and really without giving up anything but rather gaining in the process. I'm very intereted in BioDiesel adn if you have more info on the subject to share I hope you'll do so -
Keep it Green!

Burning Man, a 7 day festival in the northern nevada desert with attendance of up to 40000 people, will for the first time this year be nearly entirely powered by local (Reno) biodiesel. The event organizers have been trying to get the companies that rent generators to allow them to use biodiesel for years, but this is the first time every company they rent from (4 or 5 total, this is a massive event) agreed. Most modern diesel generators run on biodiesel without modifications, only requiring more frequent filter changes.
