My Bio

Bio for Peter Mackeonis
(Founder: SpamFrit.Org, the Spam-Free Initiative)

My thirty-five year technology career has spanned software publishing, venture funding and internet marketing.

In 1980, I co-founded and served as Marketing Director of U.K. based systems software company, MetaComCo Plc; a leading English systems software company with clients such as IBM, Sun, Atari, ICL, Commodore, Sinclair Electronics and Cambridge Computer Labs. In 1988, I relocated to California to start Triangle Publishing, an OEM software company with clients in the U.S., EU and Asia.

Prior to conceiving SpamFrit.org,, the Spam-Free Initiative in 2007, I enjoyed twelve years of creating and licensing website content, including one of the first profitable fee-based personalized daily newsletters. I have contributed marketing content to the BBC, CBS, ABC, and CNN, and my internet clients have included YAHOO!, Tickle and Fox Sports. My other interests include the holistic wellness site, VitaScans.com, home of the Touchstone Applied Kinesiology device, which we have launched recently, and Percolator.com, a coffee and tea portal.

The idea for SpamFrit.org was born out of my frustration with the ridiculous amount of spam I receive daily. The Can-Spam Act has not worked, and spam continues to create a huge unrecognized carbon footprint (http://www.spamfrit.org/carbonfootprint.html) believe that no one should be forced to purchase any software that is not productivity based, and that a proactive anti-spam site that focuses on brands being abused by spammers could have more traction than existing anti-spam sites do.

When I'm not convincing celebrities and companies to eschew spam, I can be found in Santa Cruz County playing tennis with my wife, Lisa, or walking our dog Daisy.
