A few weeks ago I found a place on the web where you could order the air car from MDI. I tried to order one to find out where I could test drive one or see it in person. I haven't got an answer yet. If I do and they are about 12K like the website shows I will order one just to report on them.
I'll let you know If I ever heard from them. These are very new and only India seems to have licensed the ability to make them. They also have the REVA all electric. Maybe they will lead the world in clean vehicles. TK

This was developed in France where they have real fuel prices of $7 a gallon with no government subsidies. They have a sales office in Barcelona. It is now licensed in India.
You have to fill the air tanks with compressed air that would be from an electric air compressor. This makes it an electric vehicles of sorts. At least it doesn't run on fossil fuel, well since most of our power comes from coal 50% and 20% from nuclear it could be condidered partially fossil fueled. Hey if we use wind generation for compressed air it would be perfect.
Also, on their facts web page I also see it can run on compressed air or fossil fuel like gas. That leaves it open to mis-use solely on gas.
That happened with the alternate fuel vehicles that could run on cleaner fuels or gas and Arizona let you buy them for 1/2 price. Many people soon abused that and got big SUVs and trucks for 1/2 price and nver filled them even once on CNG or propane. We have to stop these poor rules and if we do help a new alternate fuel put the help on the fuel not the vehicle. I'm not sure how they could do that with this compressed air car.
I went on their web site and tried to order one. We'll see if I get any answer. Many of these vehicles aren't really available yet. Maybe someday.
