Ed on MMFN w/ Gary Goldberg

Not exactly Hollywood, but Fairfield County CT & Westchester NY... I was hoping to catch the entire broadcast, but unfortunately I was on a conference call.

I caught the last few moments about high speed hybrids... and the mention of the book.

I'll keep and eye on mmfn.net to see if the segment will be rebroadcast.

Re: Ed on MMFN w/ Gary Goldberg

that might be referring to the 2 mode hybrids similar to the GM and Infinity products. They think by having a overdrive typew gear they can be more efficient.

The best is still the Prius, lighter, more efficient, CVT transmission and rankine cycle clean engine. If you add more battery capacity it's even better. If you make it lighter like the Toyota X1 concept it better still. 100+ mpg is almost here for everyone. solar stacks

I meant the atkinson cycle , not rankin. This is very lean and produces less power but with the hybrid power it allows the ICE to be very clean.

Re: Ed on MMFN w/ Gary Goldberg

Did you mean "Rankine Cycle" ???  Please provide more info.

The Rankine Cycle is a 'heat engine', not a internal combustion (IC) engine.  The difference is that the 'working fluid' is compressed as a liquid, boiled by the addition of heat, allowed to expand and reduce in pressure & temperature converting heat into work, and then condensed where the cycle repeats.

Thanks!
