I am new to the eco-friendly lifestyle and eager to learn ways to make my home and family healthier.  I believe God gave man stewardship over the earth and I want to take better care of my part of it.  Getting my family on board will be hard, but hopefully they will be more enthusiastic as our bills go down!  We installed double-pane windows last summer (2007) and saw our monthly bills go down $55 a month after just four months.  When our utility company re-evaluates our average monthly payment for next year, I'm sure we will see another significant reduction in monthly cost.  I would like to investigate solar panels/wind generators, composting, vegetable gardening and a lot of other ways to lighten our footprint.  We have just started recycling and have already seen a dramatic reduction in trash output.  I am eager to learn more and am enjoying reading Ed's book.  Lots of good common sense tips.
