Clone this Gene and save the world
Clone this GENE, No,I don't think geneticly modified gene's or gene splitting to make cloned people is a good idea. I want to introduce you to a person who you could never copy his gene. His name is Gene Cosmano , just google ev gene cosmano and you will see some of his records. He's a 2 time purple heart awarded verteran. He got his fist purple heart in action as a tail gunner in WWII. After that is was so badly injured they didn't want him to fly combat missions. So he volunteered for the front lines. He was then wounded with a bayonnet in the face.
After the war was over he was sent home and had battle injuries that had him on crutches. They slowed him down so he left them home and became a heavy equipment operator.
In his spare time he loved to race. He was in NASCAR before it was even called that. He won many races. He also qualified to race in many other types of auto races. He was a top racer in dragsters and sprint cars. He has 2 rooms full of trophies.
The trophies he is proudest of are from the APS Solar and Electric 500 vehicle challenge. He was the top distance driver as well as many other awards. The Curtis controller cooling fan option is named after him, the Cosmano fan option.
He also drives a VW Pick up that is 100% electric. The speed-o-meter had recorded over 170,000 miles that are all electric. He loves to give people their first electric vehicle ride and race around the street. If they scream and hang on for dear life he figures they know EV's are very fast and NOT golf carts !
He is also in the world record books for driving an EV coast to coart in less than 24 hours. It showed how battery swap stations could allow travel anyplace and time in an EV.
Just last week he was at our EV EXPO 2008 at Glendale Community College and drove over in his VW EV and had his electric scooter he made to buzz around and see all the vehicles. His the Energizer EV man.
So where does this guy drive in his EV you ask ? Anyplace he wants to. He volunteers his time to play keyboards at 2 American Legions and also at the VA for those who can't get out. He is always helpig others. He is my American EV Hero !
One of his dreams is to have solar panels on his truck to help charge. I'm working on a project to do just that. He knows that solar panels give you the most energy when they are stationary at the correct angle and facing south. In fact we will have he with a tilt option so when he parks he can have them face south and flip them to the best angel. That would be +-15 degrees of the latitude depending on the time of year.
Would I ask you to send a few bucks to help him out. No way, he's to proud. All I would ask is for you to comment a few words to this very sustainable guy who will never be stopped by oil prices and OPEC ! He drives everyday to be truly FREE. Let him know you care and I'll print this with all the messages. Tell any friends or family about this true American hero and I will pass it on. He's only 80 something and going strong.
Here are a few of his links
