leaks in your home, Windows, Inflector fix

Windows have to be the biggest source of energy lose in a home. The R value of a windown is very low. Many are from R1 to R6 or more if they are new triple pane gas filled. A wall with insulation is R10 to R40 or more for a zero energy home.

New windows are very expensive and make a lot of mess and trash when you remove the old ones. I have been trying to make mine better ?

Listed Green Hits the "Hundred Listing" Milestone

Listed Green, an exclusive Green MLS for the viewing public, has recently hit the"hundred listing" milestone.

As proud providers of awesome green education within each listing, we hope to change the way people shop for energy efficient homes everywhere. Yes, we have a way to go, but people are starting to talk about what we do.

Listed Green personally reviews the information before it gets listed. We also try and educate, by adding Links to various terms used in describing the green home or project.

Annualized Solar "self-heating" homes

Hi, all,

How many times, when your home is too hot in summer, have you wished you could "just bottle it up", for free heat next winter?

I was trained in architecture and began exploring simple solar heating techniques in the 1960s, despite my profs' insistances that such efforts were irrelevant, because we'd all be getting free energy from the "friendly atom" by the next decade.

Gov Funding for Going Green!

I came across this article on "This Old House" thought I should share it with everyone in case you don't already know about the HUGE incentives that are available:

Ready to take advantage of the federal government? You have until December 31. That's when Washington puts the kibosh on consumer tax credits of up to $500 for energy-saving products such as high-efficiency furnaces, water heaters, windows and insulation.

Zero Energy Homes

It would be great to see more efficient new homes. We have some of the fastest growing cities in the Chandler Gilbert Arizona area but I don't see many that are efficient let alone zero energy.

There are a few new companies with insulated material to build super efficient homes but the builders don't seem interested. They want to make fast cheaper homes with luxury upgrades they can make a fast buck on, not efficient homes that are less toxic.

check out www.isomax-az.com

SUV HUMMER HOMES

Do you live in a SUV home ?

I wish they had rating like a vehicle with their mpg and pollution levels. I think many people live in an SUV type home and don't even realize it.

A friend recently wanted to put solar panels on his home. We checked and found he had very thin sigle pane windows. He also has 2x4 walls so there was only 3 1/2 of insulation and in the attic are almost no insulation. The duct work for the air conditioning was also very poor flex tubes.

Levels of Green.............

In regards to environmentalism.

There are several levels of green.
Conservation communities, wetlands preservation, sustainable building, innovative energy efficient building, etc.

Listed Green has decided to focus on innovative, energy efficient, sustainable building design and renovation.
In this critical time of high energy costs and depleting worldwide energy sources, Listed Green saw a need to elevate and educate on this very important issue.
