Zero Energy Homes

Re: Zero Energy Homes
Our home is zero enery and even energy plus many months. I try to do a energy project each year. Here are some:
solar PV
solar h2o
solar screens
solar tube lights
energy star appliances, fridge, washer, dishwasher
low flow water
edible plants and trees instead of grass
radiant barrier in attic
next I'd like better window but want R20 or better

It would be great to see more efficient new homes. We have some of the fastest growing cities in the Chandler Gilbert Arizona area but I don't see many that are efficient let alone zero energy.
There are a few new companies with insulated material to build super efficient homes but the builders don't seem interested. They want to make fast cheaper homes with luxury upgrades they can make a fast buck on, not efficient homes that are less toxic.

if you know any 100K or more investors they could help them build more zero energy homes and change the market. It may take a year or two but with energy prices always going up more people will want efficient homes to save money and the environment.
Add any other efficient home builders you are aware of.
